Castlem: Chapter 13
Chapter 13
That night, they reached The Teacher's school.
When she saw it, Victoria pointed it out to Charlotte and said happily, "This is it. The finest institution for curious minds in all of Castlem."
"What's it called?" asked Charlotte.
"The Institution for Curious Minds, the ICM, or, to those who are more fond of it, the Castle."
It was, indeed, a castle. When they got up close, Charlotte could see that it was made out of dark gray stone, and had all the features of a castle. There was a moat (full of crocodiles of course), and four towers.
"It looks just like a fairy-tale castle," gasped Charlotte. "Only much larger and real."
"Do you like fairy-tales?" Asked Victoria.
Charlotte blushed and said, "Yes. Mainly because I like stories, though."
"Then you and The Teacher will get along grandly. She is always telling stories. Come on." Johnathon walked across the wooden (and not so sturdy looking) drawbridge, until he reached the Castle's doors.
Charlotte looked up, and was intimidated by the size of the Castle.
"It's so big," she whispered.
"Yes it is," Victoria replied. Then she looked at Charlotte and said, "Well, are you going to knock on the doors?"
"Kn-kn-knock on the doors?"
"Yes. That's usually the way one gets permission to enter a place.Unless you have different customs where you come from."
"No, we do things that way. It's just... it's just so large."
"Just knock."
"All right." Charlotte jumped off Johnathon and walked towards the doors of the Castle. She paused, however when she reached the heavy wooden doors and looked up.
"What are you doing?" Victoria asked.
"Observing, admiring, whatever you call it."
"There will be plenty of time for observing later. Right now we need to get inside. It's safe there."
Charlotte knocked on the doors, but nothing happened.
"Try again," urged Victoria, with an edge of sharpness in her voice.
Charlotte knocked again, and this time the doors slowly creaked open.
She was about to go in when Victoria said, "Wait. I'll go first." Victoria flew though the doors, when she was grabbed by a giant fist.
A booming voice high above Charlotte rumbled, "What have we here? Dinner for Stewart?"

i need more! this is fantastic
ReplyDeletecriticism:
how big a fist?
why does victoria want to go first?
How tall are the walls and door?
maybe three "Kn-kn-knock."
how did she walk towards the door of the Castle
Capitalize "Castle"
Observing? maybe less to the point "admiring"?
how many doors 1 or 2 you use the terms interchangeably
I love the plot and could never be so creative. can't wait for more, but take your time making it awesome.
Love you and miss you,
Rose
