Castlem:Chapter 14
Chapter 14
The booming voice continued, "No, not dinner. Too small. Make good appetizer for Stewart."
Charlotte looked up, and almost screamed. Towering over her was a giant at least two stories tall. His fist (the one that trapped Victoria) was about twice the size of Charlotte's head. Charlotte tried to back away without being noticed, but it was too late. The giant had seen her.
He picked her up with his other fist, brought her to his eye level, and said, "What is this. Another appetizer?" He sounded confused.
"N-n-no. I'm not an appetizer," Charlotte hurriedly said. "I taste awful. So does the pixie."
"Pixie?" roared the giant. "Pixie. Me no like pixie. Bleh! Gross!" The giant dropped Victoria, and she flew a ways away. "But what you?" continued the giant, looking hard at Charlotte.
Charlotte did some fast thinking and said, "I'm a human."
"But me like human!"
"Not me. You won't like me."
"Why?"
A shrill voice then called, "STEWART!!"
"Huh?" the giant looked around to see where the voice came from.
"Stewart put her down!"
"Why? Me no have appetizer?"
"She's not your appetizer."
"What?" the giant turned towards Charlotte, "Sorry, you no appetizer." He gently put her down on the ground.
"Thank you," she said. Charlotte felt something brush her shoulder, and whipped around. But it was only Victoria landing on her shoulder.
"Close call, huh?" Charlotte whispered to Victoria.
"Are you kidding me? I've never been up in the air on anything but my wings. It was incredible!!" Victoria cried.
"Glad you enjoyed it, then," muttered Charlotte.
Then the shrill voice that had told the giant to put Charlotte down shouted, "Victoria!! It's so good to see you." Charlotte saw a red pixie fly over to them.
Victoria exclaimed, "Samantha!!" She flew off Charlotte's shoulder and met the red pixie in the air with an enthusiastic hug. The two pixies embraced for a few more seconds before the red pixie (Samantha) pulled away.
"Where have you been? We were told you went on a secret mission, and The Teacher wouldn't tell us where or what it was. When you didn't come back for weeks, we all became very worried. Where have you been? What have you been doing? Why were you gone for so long. Who sent you on your mission?" Samantha asked.
"Whoa, whoa. Calm down with the questions. I have to speak to The Teacher before I can tell any of you anything. By the way, where is The Teacher?"
"I'll show you. She's been in her study ever since you left, just pacing and pacing. She won't eat and she claims she can't sleep, but I just think she's worried about you. Something else troubles her, but she won't tell us what. Follow me. Oh, and bring your companion, too." With that Samantha started leading Victoria and Charlotte inside the Castle.
