Loneliness

The chill night air creeps up my spine
I look around and the wind begins to whine
Here peace is near
But alas I feel fear
In the forest dark and deep
The leaves along the path creep
The wind whips my hair around
And the wind is the only sound
Alone I stand and think
I walk along then come to the brink
The edge of the cliff under my feet
A waterfall nearby and no one to greet
How lonely and yet how sweet
This forest floor where no path will meet

  1. I like this poem because the last two lines are so sentimental!
