Castlem: Chapter 8
Chapter 8For he next couple of days, Charlotte and Victoria's journey went smoothly. However, on the fifth day, they realized they were lost.
"This is impossible!" Victoria shouted furiously. "We were supposed to be there yesterday! I've always gotten there in time, before. What could have happened?" Charlotte and Victoria sat there for a few minutes, when Charlotte jumped in her seat and shouted, "I've got it!"
"What is it?" Victoria asked eagerly.
Charlotte hopped off Johnathon, and pointed to a small patch of ground a few feet away. "There is where we slept last night. See the mark where Johnathon slept?"
"I see it, I see it!"
Charlotte moved to a spot a few feet away from there. "And that's where we slept the night before that. You see, we've been traveling in circles."
"What an idiot I am. That's why Johnathon always wanted to go straight, instead of turning right or left."
"That's right."
"Well the," announced Victoria, "there is a simple solution. We continue on, but we go straight this time." And so they did.
That afternoon, Charlotte and Victoria left the forest and entered a meadow.
"Oh, it's wonderful to escape the confines of the forest," Victoria said rapturously. "I always feel so much more alive at this point in the journey."
"Really?" asked Charlotte. "I always love being in the forest."
"Yes, but your forests must be much different from the forests here. Here the trees have ears, and there are all sorts of dangerous creatures."
"What sort of creatures?"
"Bandits, lions, bears, evil chipmunks, and much more."
"Evil chipmunks?!"
"Yes. They throw exploding walnuts at you (trust me, they hurt), and they make so much noise that it's almost impossible to fall asleep. oh, and they have very sharp claws and fangs."
"But why haven't I seen any of these creatures these past few days?"
"Well, first of all, you are from a different world,and your appearance was so sudden that you startled them. And as we were going through the forest, we had a Changer with us. That makes all the difference."
"I see. So if you have a Changer with you, you will always be safe?" Charlotte asked.
Victoria replied,"Most of the time. Sometimes, not even a Changer can save you."

Evil Chipmunks??!! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteMay I also suggest that you start reviewing books? You can have a rating system and everything. You could rate picture books, young adult fiction, classic fiction, and such. I think you'd enjoy putting your opinion out there for all the world to see!
Yes well, I am a little crazy (at least when I'm writing). And I like that idea. Maybe I will try it when I have more time.
